Hello There!

My name is Kimberly Williams. Most people call me Kim.

I’m a pretty down to earth and approachable individual who loves to eat, discuss controversial social issues or play a friendly game of Volleyball.

I was born in Atlanta, GA, but grew up in Minneapolis, MN. I’m the most Southern Mid-Westerner you’ll ever meet. Yes I enjoy corn bread with my tater tot hot dish.

When I’m not in school learning about social justice issues and universal design I’m either leading a USGBC club meeting or helping my residents out with their latest roommate issue as a Resident Advisor.

I also currently work as a Graphic Designer and Art Education Assistant at my Universities local folk Art Gallery creating Exhibition Signage as well as preparing classes that pertain to the current exhibit for local students to come learn more about art history!

I’m a huge planner. From events, parties to gallery openings. I make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone keeps their glass full and stomachs full of mini meatballs.

My plan for after graduation is to work in interior design either in the residential sector or commercially in Education. My long term goal is to go to Graduate school to become an Urban and Regional planner.

Cities, people and the environments they inhabit intrigue me. I’m all about solving a problem. There are so many societal issues that design has already addressed (ADA for example), but there are also so many that still need to be addressed (homelessness for example). I want to be a part of continuing to create solutions.

Below are my two current Inspirations. Rick Lowe created Project Row Houses in Houston, TX and Sheila Bridges is a renown Interior Designer in New York.
